Grainne  Keane, Vice President University Women of Europe, presented the prestigious UWE Award 2025 to Mary Robinson at University College Dublin  with over 40 guests in attendance.

University Women of Europe is honored to have this opportunity  to celebrate Mary Robinson’s  enduring legacy of Justice and Parity:

System-Rocker: From dismantling the Marriage Bar to becoming Ireland’s First Female President

Global Advocate: She mandated a gender lens across all UN human rights work.

Climate Leader: She argues powerfully that Climate Injustice is a Women’s Rights Crisis.

Mary Robinson was truly delighted to receive the award saying that it was particularly important as it was one from her peers “fellow University Women”. After an inspiring speech focusing on her recent climate change work she generously gave her time to speak to members of the Irish Federation and to pose for photographs. 

Everybody present enjoyed hearing her warm and inspiring words and  the event has undoubtedly raised UWE’s profile with members who had not previously been at the UWE Meet & Greet in Belfast, earlier this year.
