LAST Call for Applications for official delegates to represent GWI at the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70), to be held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 9 to 20 March 2026.

Each CSW session, non-governmental organizations, such as GWI, who maintain consultative status to the Economic and Social Council are granted a limited number of official delegate accreditations for the UnitedNations(UNWomen) segment of CSW. The Civil Society Forum is a separate session and has unlimited space for in person and online delegates.

As per UN Women, a maximum of 20 in-person individual delegates will be selected as UN delegates. The GWI Board of Officers will select delegates based on the following criteria:

  • Each candidate must have the full endorsement of their NFA President or Coordinator of International Relations (CIR). The link to the CSW70 Candidate Endorsement Form, signed by the President or CIR, is below and must accompany the delegate application.
  • Deep understanding of GWI’s mission and vision.
  • Commitment to attend daily CSW70 side events and parallel events as a GWIdelegate.
  • Willingness to prepare short written summaries of sessions attended, including photos where possible.
  • Demonstrated experience with advocacy work related to GWI is considered an asset.

Eligibility:
Only applicants who meet the above criteria and whose NFA 2025 dues are paid in full will be considered.GWI strongly encourages all members to participate in the CSW NGO Forum, organized by the Committee on the Status, New York, which will be held in person and virtually alongside the UN Women sessions held inside the UN campus. Further details on Forum registration will be shared when announced by CSW New York.

Members who are interested in participating as part of GWI’s delegation must submit an official delegate CSW70 Application Form and CSW70 Candidate Endorsement Form. Both forms must be emailed to the GWI Office to sdl@graduatewomen.org no later than 21 November 2025 at midnight Central European Time (CET). This deadline must be strictly enforced to meet UN Women registration deadlines and to give selected candidates who need a United States of America visa time to process their application.

Respectfully, GWI cannot fund delegate travel, accommodation, subsistence, visa, other costs association the CSW70 in New York. We can provide letter of visa or letter of funding support as requested to sdl@graduatewomen.org.

The CSW70 priority theme is:
Ensuring and strengthening access to justice for all women and girls, including by promoting inclusive and equitable legal systems, eliminating discriminatory laws, policies, and practices, and addressing structural barriers.

The CSW70 review theme is:
Women’s full and effective participation and decision-making in public life, as well as the elimination of violence, for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls (agreed conclusions of the sixty-fifth session).
