The Committee on Human rights, Democracy and Artificial Intelligence of the Conference of INGOs in cooperation with the University Women of Europe (UWE) organise a webinar on “ Parity, an imperative for the governance of our democratic societies” with English/French interpretation on 16 June 2025 from 6 pm to 8 pm CEST.

The event will address questions of equitable and inclusive representation of women in decision-making systems, with the participation of high level guest speakers. The equitable and inclusive representation of women in decision-making systems is essential to strengthening our democracies. Sharing power: this is the concrete commitment that the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, CEDAW, is proposing with its Recommendation 40 of October 25, 2024, which aims to achieve substantial progress in parity by 2030, particularly in terms of integrating the recommendation into the peace and security architecture, as well as in everything to do with artificial intelligence. The only acceptable quota is parity, 50/50, a universal standard that must be imposed. It represents progress for the advancement of women’s rights as a whole and reinforces the legitimacy of decision-making systems. This is what our invited guest speakers will explain to us.
