Ahead of International Day of Peace – September 21, was celebrated the 25th anniversary of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security in Finland.
Women, peace and security 25 years – Learning from achievements, responding to challenges – was marked with a seminar gathering over 200 domestic and international experts, decision-makers, and organizational activists on Friday 5.9.2025, to discuss how the UN Women, Peace and Security -agenda can be promoted in a challenging security policy context in Finland and internationally.
The seminar was organized by the Finnish Women, Peace and Security -network; CMC Finland , CMI – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation , and Ulkoministeriö – utrikesministeriet
Finnish Women, Peace and Safety – network has been operating since 2006, whose purpose is to promote women, peace and safety -themes in Finland. The network includes 30 organization members and over 200 researchers, experts and people. Networking is being coordinated by UN Women Finnish Graduate Women’s Association has been a member of the network since 2013.
