On 12 August, it is celebrated World Youth Day. In line with United Nations and Graduate Women International‘s commitment to youth education under the 2025 theme, “Local Youth Actions for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Beyond”, we respect the vital role young people play in advancing international collaboration and global agendas such as the Sustainable Development Goals within specific local contexts. Whether advocating for gender equality, expanding access to education, or building inclusive digital spaces, youth are leading the way in shaping a more connected and cooperative world and driving progress.

According to UNESCO In the EU Youth Survey published this year, young people ranked their main concerns:

  • 40% rising prices, cost of living
  • 33% the environment and climate change
  • 31% the economic situation and creation of jobs

The environment and climate change are the highest-ranking priority in: Italy 46%, Denmark 44% and France 40%.

Among young people no longer in education, those who completed post-secondary or higher education are considerably more likely to select the environment and climate change as a priority for the EU.
